Three young trees make their wishes: one to become a ship, another a treasure chest, the third to grow for ever and point to God. This is a play version of the author's picture book of the same name which is a retelling of a traditional folktale.
Three trees growing on a hilltop dream of grand futures, but when they're claimed by woodcutters, other things happen. One becomes a manger that holds the Christ child, another a humble fishing boat that carries Jesus and his followers, and the third is cut into stout timbers that become Jesus' cross.
