Caryn Tamber-Rosenau is Assistant Professor of Jewish Studies and Religious Studies at the University of Houston, where she also directs the program in Jewish Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Ancient Israel from Vanderbilt University, an M.A. in Jewish Studies from Towson University, and a B.A. in Communications (magna cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania. She is the author of Women in Drag: Gender and Performance in the Hebrew Bible and Early Jewish Literature and has published widely on women, gender, and sexuality in the Hebrew Bible and other ancient Jewish literature.
