New textile collages and sculptures by a Roma artist whose themes are the everyday worlds and myths of Roma culture Mirga-Tas attracted a lot of attention with her contribution to the "RomaMoMA" space at the Fridericianum at documenta 15 in 2022. A Roma herself, she depicted the transition of the Romani people in the 1960s and 70s from a nomadic to a settled life. In her new, colourful pictures on cardboard and canvas, she again uses different materials including textiles, furs, pearls, and feathers to show everyday worlds and myths of Roma culture, inspired, among others, by the vividly coloured pictures of African artist Kerry James Marshall. Neue Textilbilder und Plastiken einer Roma-Künstlerin, deren Thema die Lebenswelten und Mythen der Rom*nja-Kultur sind Große Aufmerksamkeit erhielt Mirga-Tas¿Arbeit im "RomaMoMA" Raum im Fridericianums auf der documenta 15, 2022. Als Romnja beschrieb sie dort den Übergang der Rom*nja in den 1960 und 70er Jahren von einem nomadischen Leben zur Sesshaftigkeit. In ihren neuen, farbenfrohen Bildern auf Pappe und Leinwand verwendet sie erneut verschiedene Materialien wie Textilien, Pelz, Perlen und Federn, um Lebenswelten und Mythen der Rom*nja-Kultur zu zeigen, inspiriert unter anderem von den farbintensiven Bildern des afrikanischen Künstlers Kerry James Marshall.
