Michael Gottlieb, MD Professor of Emergency Medicine Vice Chair of Research Director, Emergency Ultrasound Division Department of Emergency Medicine Rush University Medical Center Chicago, Illinois Dr. Gottlieb is an ultrasound fellowship-trained emergency medicine physician, who is certified as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and has a Focused Practice Designation in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound. He is the Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Division and Vice Chair of Research at Rush University Medical Center, where he developed the institutional point-of-care ultrasound program and founded the Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship. He is a national leader in ultrasound and education, having served on the Board of Directors for the Society for Clinical Ultrasound Fellowships, as well as the Past-Chair of the ACEP Ultrasound Section, AAEM Ultrasound Section, CORD Academy for Scholarship, SAEM Education Summit, and CORD Education Committee. He is also an avid researcher and author, having published over 600 peer-reviewed publications and is an editor for nine major medical journals. He has given over 350 invited national and international lectures and received dozens of awards for research, education, and leadership. Nova Panebianco, MD, MPH Professor of Emergency Medicine Director, Division of Emergency Ultrasound Department of Emergency Medicine University of Pennsylvania Philadelphia, PA Dr. Panebianco is an ultrasound fellowship-trained Professor at the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She serves as the Director of the Division of Emergency Ultrasound and is the Chair of the Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Alliance, a health-system wide committee of POCUS stakeholders. Dr. Panebianco is a consummate educator and one of her most important accomplishments has been establishing a collaborative multi-specialty POCUS fellowship at her institution, graduating POCUS experts from Hospitalist Medicine, Family Medicine, Critical Care, Nephrology, Geriatrics, and Med/Peds specialties. She is a national leader in ultrasound having served as Chair of the SAEM Academy of Emergency Ultrasound, Chair of the ACEP Ultrasound Section, President of the Society of Clinical Ultrasound Fellowships, and is currently the Secretary/Treasurer of the National Board of Echocardiography. She has given over 250 lectures locally, nationally, and internationally, co-organized the SCUF annual meeting in 2016, and co-chaired the critical care track session at American Society of Echocardiography scientific assembly. She has extensive grant-funded research, scientific publications, and has won multiple awards in her institution and nationally for service, research, and education. This will be her second book publication. |
