The two novels predominantly revolve around the theme of colonialism and cultural hegemony between the traditional African societies and that of the colonial masters. This book has its limited scope in identifying the views of Chinua Achebe for rejuvenating the Nigerian Society in the Post Colonial era. Achebe's contribution in the field of Nigerian literature integrates a large number of his works. Yet to appraise him in terms of the two novels will not be an underestimation. For many a critic, Achebe is the father of the African novel because of his matchless contribution towards the Africanisation.
