Doodle Pig and Peck Rooster, two farmyard residents, crash into each other in their rush to attend Camelia Cow's birthday party. Their gifts are thrown into the air, land in the dirt, and are ruined. Or are they?
Duck, Horse, and Cat help Doodle and Peck discover that if they cooperate, they can create a new, even better, birthday gift. At the party, Camelia loves their gift, a book of fairy tales. This encourages Doodle and Peck to collaborate on another book, "sure to be a winner."
An allegory which teaches children the process of an idea becoming a printed book.
