Thomas à Kempis (c.1380-1471) was a German religious writer who entered the Augustinian convent of Agnietenberg in 1400, and lived there for seventy years until his death. THE IMITATION OF CHRIST is his best-known work. Edward Musgrave Blaiklock (1903-1983) was chair of Classics at Auckland University from 1947 to 1968, and champion of Christian apologetic literature in New Zealand from the 1950s until his death in 1983. |
