This beautifully illustrated colour guide surveys the Mycenaean buildings known as the Palace of Nestor, discovered in 1939 above the modern town of Pylos in southwest Greece. It reconstructs life in the citadel and its associated tombs, and also describes the surrounding landscape.

The classic guide to the southernmost of the mainland Mycenean palaces, now illustrated in full color and including Piet de Jong's elegant watercolors. The booklet has been expanded to include description of nearby sites, and some of the results of the Pylos Regional Archaeological Survey, which mapped the region during the 1990s. An appendix serves as a guide to the Chora Museum.
